Belfast Lough Pilotage Services (BLPS) Ltd are seeking to create a pool of potential candidates for entry to the Belfast Pilots Co-Operative as openings occur in the future.

BLPS provide pilotage services to Belfast Harbour, Port of Larne, and independent jetties within Belfast Lough, N. Ireland. We undertake duties onboard a diverse range of vessel types and sizes, including project movements for the offshore industry and ship repair / drydocking at the Harland & Wolff shipyards.

The ideal candidate will meet the following minimum entry criteria:

– Valid STCW Master Mariner Unlimited II/2 Certificate of Competency
– Valid ENG1 Medical Certificate
– Full UK Driving Licence (or equivalent)
– Fluent in the use of the English Language
– Right to live and work in N. Ireland
– To be permanently resident less than one hour drive from Belfast Harbour

Description

Due to a retirement in early 2027 the Gloucester Pilots Partnership is seeking a dynamic committed individual who will become a member of the partnership once initial training and authorisation has been completed.

Primarily serving the Port of Sharpness, Gloucester Pilots are contracted by the Gloucester Harbour Trustees (GHT) to provide pilotage services throughout the Gloucester Harbour Area. This unique pastoral district is situated in a Special Area of Conservation that experiences extreme tidal range and tidal flows.

Pilotage in this district is very much a hands on role and the successful candidate is already an experienced mariner with previous ship handling and or pilotage experience with vessels up to 8000 tonnes deadweight. He or she will have a flexible ‘can-do’ attitude and be prepared to fit in with the operational requirements of a small team.

Unlimited master’s certificate is desirable but not essential and have experience as Master or Chief Officer, with or without previous pilotage experience. You must hold a full ENG1 medical certificate, a clean UK (or equivalent) driving licence and be prepared to relocate within 30 minutes commuting distance from Sharpness Port.
