For Immediate Release.
The United Kingdom Maritime Pilots’ Association (UKMPA) today announced the launch of a major rebranding following the UK’s recent departure from the European Union.
The timely changes from a heraldic collection of flags to a modern visual image that more properly reflects an association that is proactive, inclusive and dynamic whilst at the same time maintaining its historical context.
Captain Mike Morris, Chairman of the UKMPA said,
‘The UKMPA is updating its identity to better reflect its status as a world leading organisation in maritime pilotage. As such, the UKMPA intends to promote a recognisable and consistent image to its audience.’
The UKMPA’s ambition is to be instantly recognisable to its members, stakeholders and the wider maritime community. The new logo, a ‘Pilot (H) flag cleverly blended into a ship’s Union Jack bow wave, signals the association’s position within the commercial and leisure sectors of both national and international maritime communities.
The rebranding emphasises the UKMPA’s commitment to the professional way that it operates by:
“Supporting Pilots – Protecting Trade.”
Sincere thanks is offered to Mark Harvey at ImageWorks Ltd and Captain Chris Hoyle for their design work in creating a logo that will stand the test of time.
Note for editors: The UKMPA represents approximately 500 highly skilled UK Maritime Pilots.
Their role is to safely navigate ships in and out of the United Kingdom’s waterways and ports.
